Cat Does Not Like To Be Petted
Does your cat not like to be petted or does it bite you when you are trying to stroke them? Some people find it disturbing that when they want to pet their cat that their cat does not want to be petted. Most often the problem lies in what the owner’s expectations are for the cat.
Cats only like to be petted for so long and then they must leave. Most cats do this quietly, while others will turn and bite you to get you to stop petting them.
One way to prevent cat bites while petting is learn the signs your cat gives off right before they bite. Almost all cats start to show some signs before they bite.
This could be a change in posture, a closing of the ears, a narrowing of the eyes, or a wagging of the tail.
One you learn that signs that your cat has had enough petting you can simply place your cat down.
Some cats do have petting induced aggression, but this is normally rare. These cases are normally seen in cats that have been raised at kittens without human contact.
Since these cats were raised without human contact , often times they can become aggressive when humans try to pet them. But your cat likely does not have this condition.
